“St. Xavier’s unites for a Greener Tomorrow”
St. Xavier’s Public school,
Observed World Environment Day on June 5th with a series of meaningful and inspiring activities to create awareness about environmental Protection and sustainable living.
The day’s events commenced with special morning assembly where students gathered with enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility towards nature. The assembly was graced by the esteemed presence of our principal Rev. Fr. Aneesh Kannamkunnel, Rev. Fr. Vinil Kurishuthara, Rev. Fr. Jomon Joseph, whose encouragement and blessings uplifted the spirit of the occasion.
The students presented a thought-provoking mime conveying the importance of protecting nature. Through silent actions and expessions, they effectively portrayed the consequence of pollution, deforestation and climate change, leaving a deep impact on the audience.
A student representative delivered an insightful speech, stressing the urgent need to protect our environment and live in harmony with nature. The speaker reminded everyone that even small actions, when done collectively can bring big changes.
Our principal, Rev. Fr. Aneesh Kannamkunnel empharized the importance of saying no to plastic in his address. He reminded the students of the long-lasting damage plastic causes to the environment and encouraged them to adopt eco- friendly alternatives in their daily lives. His words resonated deeply with the audience and added great value to the day’s theme of environmental responsibility. The children proudly held up the posters and slogans they had created during the assembly.
In moving moment of unity, the entire school community took an Environment Day Pledge promising to protect natural resources, plant more trees, reduce waste and spread awareness among others. The pledge reflected the commitment of the students and staff to be responsible care takers of the Earth.
Together, let us all remember “There is no Planet B” and continue working towards a greener and cleaner future.
